Visiting the Glenturret Distillery was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Scotland. We did the Whisky Maker’s experience tour with John (and one of the cats, Turret) and had the best time with him! We learned so much about whisky, the history of the distillery, and left with unique souvenirs. We could not rave about John and his hospitality enough. He really made this tour and our trip extremely special. Karen in the gift shop was lovely as well. The next time we’re in Scotland, we will certainly be back to visit this distillery and the restaurant!

An impromptu visit to the distillery, we were in the area and needed something to do on a cold Monday afternoon...it turned out to be the highlight of the day! We ended up on a fabulous tour with Stuart, a man that is clearly passionate about his work, the company and product. All the staff we encountered on the day were great to be fair (including the cats). I ended up buying a bottle of wine and got a couple of drams to take away with me as I was the driver on the day. Highly recommend this tour.

For Valentine's Day, I surprised my husband with the Whisky Maker’s Experience at The Glenturret Distillery, and let me tell you—this was hands down one of the most incredible experiences we've ever had. We planned an entire day of travel through the Highlands, soaking in the breathtaking scenery, with Glenturret as our perfect midway stop.

Now, I was new to whisky—didn’t know my tasting notes, had never truly experienced it the way it should be enjoyed. But that all changed thanks to Don, our whisky guru for the day. This man was absolutely phenomenal! He didn’t just tell us about whisky; he taught us how to experience it. The science, the patience, the artistry—it’s unreal how much care goes into every bottle.

And the best part? We crafted our own bottles of whisky, blended to our exact taste. No one else in the world will have these bottles—just us. A completely unique, one-of-a-kind creation that we’ll cherish forever.

We also couldn’t leave without snagging a bottle of their 10-year-old peat-smoked whisky, especially since they’re moving away from peat-smoked expressions. This is truly a special bottle that won’t be around forever, and I’m so glad we got our hands on one.

The Glenturret is a boutique distillery, and you won’t find their whisky anywhere else—you have to go there to experience it. And trust me, it’s 1000% worth it. Whether you're a whisky lover or a total newbie (like I was), this experience will change the way you think about whisky forever.

Thank you, Don, and thank you to everyone at The Glenturret for making our Valentine’s Day unforgettable. We’ll be back!

Fun tour around the working distillery (it will actually be working on a weekday, a bit less on a weekend).

Informative helpful guide. (Thanks Karen!) Who could answer all your questions outside of those requiring a bio thermal dynamics engineering degree.

Absolutely worth taking up the offer of the additional flight after the tour. You get to try some serious good whisky in the FANCY AF lalique glasses upstairs in the swanky bar area. Really informative and you get to try some good stuff.

If you're driving they will give you tastings in a bottle to take home with you.

Cafe and shop both nice and pretty reasonable. Didn't try the restaurant but it was very popular on the visit.

Worth a visit! Good scotch whisky, nicely peated and a fun informative tour. Also Glen and Turret are cute little furry guides.

My wife and I went on the distillery tour hosted by John. Was a fantastic experience. John was really knowledgeable and so personable. It felt like he was giving us a tour of his home. Well worth a visit. The whiskey was also fantastic and we didn't escape the gift shop without some souvenirs. I didn't realize that the distillery was so interwoven with Lalique (who are 50% owners of Glenturret) I think they show reward John with a lalique cain.

We also had lunch in the restaurant which was amazing and a great way to experience all the glass wear before walking through that gift shop too

It is a lovely distillery with a mix of old and new. Good size car park and the tour was £18. The tour guide was very informative, and you learned about the distilleries whisky making process. You get one nip of triple wood whisky but would be good if you got to try a couple more like other distilleries do. Nice shop but was hoping for some distillery limited bottling. Nice cafe, has a Michelin star restaurant and a whisky bar.

Informative and jovial tour of an historic distillery in its prime. John shared his passion for machinery and compelling anecdotes. This experience is equally suitable to whisky newcomers and veterans. Doubles as a cat cafƩ!
