If only I had read the reviews before buying a warranty where the insurer used this company then I could have avoided them completely. They are very quick to use the excuse we are acting on the instructions of the insurer , however I am sure the insurer does not ask them to provide a very poor service with a reluctance to do anything other than send the odd pointless emails and then fail to respond to anything the developer sends them. I have tried to work with these people but it is impossible and have now been waiting for the company owner to address my issues with his company and give him a chance to explain the behaviour and poor performance of his company, however he has failed to make any form of contract. Please read the reviews and choose another company.

I really struggle to deal with meridian, I’ve dealt with them on three projects now, luckily they got rid of one of the surveyors that was extremely poor. They are extremely petty and ask for insurance from everyone that has done anything in each part of the project, basically eliminating the need for them at all! I now check with the warranty providers to make sure they don’t use meridian for the inspections.
I wonder when people will wake up to the fact that building warranties are just a box ticking exercise for mortgage lenders and that they really have no relevance as everything goes back to the developer through their insurance or their subcontractors insurance which will probably of gone bankrupt by that time anyway!
Inspectors I have found are knowledgeable but extremely petty, they will find anything and I mean anything, even a full investigation on a tiny mark on a wall that was a plasterboard screw that hadn’t been screwed in all the way!

I reported several issues to Meridian, about the adjoining property to mine. They are good at sending emails, the people they sent to inspect were basically useless, they agreed with my concerns but never acted or followed up to make sure homeowner had complied. They missed a lintel above a window…. !

The inspector Lee Raja is very hard to work with so I will advise not to use this company they just want to do extra visits to make more money which happened to me had to pay £550 for extra three visits which was disgraceful.

Having called the office to discuss an issue, I was asked to repeat what had been discussed in an email. An email was sent disclosing the issue and its time sensitive nature. No response was given, a colleague later called and was told that there was no record of my email. A second call then lead to the email mysteriously being found. The office staff weren't helpful, quotes can't be given over the phone and business has since been taken elsewhere.

Poor customer service from start. Surveyors dont have knowledge to advice or are upto date on current building regulations. Dont have professionalism to check your plans prior to raising reports. A real struggle to deal with the company and better to investigate other more competent surveying practices for your surveying needs.

We used Meridian to do the building control on a Loft conversion recently, the whole process was painless, the appointments were within a couple of days and overall was much easier than previous experiences with the council. I would thoroughly recommend Meridian, Thanks again
