Alex handled my first spousal visa so we thought he was a sure thing. We even see him occasionally on the street and say hi because he works by where we live.

I emailed him with detailed questions and the date of my visa expiration well over 3 months before my visa was due to expire and he answered all of my emails. I even asked him multiple times when we needed to pay him and he wrote “pay me when we submit your application“. You would think all of this meant that he’s your lawyer, no? You have an email chain to prove it.

Despite this, he never said in any of his reply emails to “make sure all of your documents are in two weeks before your visa expires” or “if you’re late, we can file for a 2 week extension to file from your visa expiration date” or that we could “submit the application and have 60 days to upload the rest of the documents” (these are all things we learned from other lawyers since Alex when trying to fix his blatant negligence) - because my husband owns his own business and the self-employment taxes part takes accountants a bit longer to compile.

No. None of that. And how would we know? We trusted him because he got me my first visa.

Once all of the documents had been compiled, I emailed Alex and his response was “You have overstayed your visa and you must go back to the USA to file now”. Do what?!

My entire life - living married with my husband for over 3 years - oh just go off to the country of your birth, pay for 2 houses/food/cars in 2 different countries, and who knows when or if you’ll get approved to come back?

If you were too busy to answer emails properly (even when asked specifically for the date you needed all documents by), or you didn’t want my case, or you needed to be paid upfront - you say that. You don’t string people along and then act self-righteous and as if it’s not your job to tell us the process. How would we know? We aren’t immigration lawyers.

And we would’ve been better off doing it ourselves - if this is the type of “service” you get from someone you’ve paid before, who you walk by on the street and make small chat with, and who obviously gives no thought to the impact he makes on your life.

I never write negative reviews (unless it’s a truly horrible experience) because I believe in small business owners and we had a good experience with Alex our first time we used him. But now I’m uprooting my life because of his negligence and nonchalance.

I’ve never experienced anything like this before in my life.

We recently went to him to assist with a partner visa to bring my partner from Mexico to the Uk . He explained very clearly the documents we would need , the process involved and what it would cost.
He was always contactable by email or telephone and was extremely professional.
By using Alexander, my partners visa has already been approved , we will certainly use him again when the time comes to extend the visa.
