We were first-time buyers looking for a mortgage and our experience with Justyna Ferra has been amazing. She kept us updated at every step, explained us everything and answered all of our (thousands) questions. Mortgages and insurances are complicated products but with her everything was clear. She went over and beyond for us: she even helped us in the price renegotiation of the property and when we started panicking, Justyna did a great job on keeping us calm, answering our emails from home, after work and late at night. Justyna clearly loves her job and she's really good at it. We've been so lucky to have found her and we genuinely think that if it wasn't for her we wouldn't be able to complete on the property. She's a real value for the company and I hope she's recognized.

I booked an appointment with Justyna in the st ives branch. At first she was great really friendly and seemed super knowledgable which gave us great confidence being first time buyers and not having a clue about the whole process of buying a house hence why we decided to take the plunge and pay for a mortgage advisor. One we got the mortgage in principle embrace requested the payment of £399 which i paid straight away as Justyna was super confident and constantly reassuring us all was fine and going to go through with no problems. This soon became apparent to not be the case when i received a phone call saying the mortgage offer had been declined. Justin explained the issues and what we needed to do to change the decision. After some 4 weeks later and still no change in the decision from the mortgage lender despite me providing everything i was asked to. I also asked Justyna to try other mortgage lenders even if it meant me paying more interest. She tried with natwest which declined then went straight back to nationwide which we was having issues with and said we must continue to try to change their decision. Because of the time this was taking the owners of the house we wanted to buy suggested they wanted to find a new buyer. With this being said i spoke to Lloyds who i bank with and booked an appointment with their mortgage advisor who managed to get me a mortgage and a much better deal on the solicitors all within the space of 4 days. This process with lloyds was free so why was i paying a mortgage advisor from embrace mortgages £399 to fail I then contacted Justyna to inform her of this and request a refund as she did not complete what i was paying her to do. She refused this refund and told me if i went and saw her in 3 years time she would re-mortgage for me free of charge.

With this i put in a complaint to address the situation and request a refund. Gordon who dealt with my complaint was fantastic, really thorough and investigated it with great detail. With his findings he found out there was many things Justyna failed to check and question before she submitted our application to nationwide which caused our application to be declined. With this he agreed a full refund was appropriate. Thank you Gordon.

Really awful. It's obvious when you go to this advisor that she is trying to steer you toward specific products and collect her initial advisory fee. We weren't happy with our initial appointment at Embrace so ended up going to Expert Financial across the street. We ended up with better rates and much more impartial advice.
