went there by reference from friends who have used them for years.

To my surprise, these "accountants" literally take an outrageous "fee" from your tax refund through an 'escrow account' (their own personal check account where they receive YOUR tax money and issue you a check later, minus their huge cut).

Looks like these people rather take advantage from the less-educated crowds,
borderline not-so legal.
