I was appointed this company from a broker. They were appointed mid December. First week of February we received a form to sign for authority to act on our behalf. Even though we had already been dealing with them. We should have known at this point that it was a red flag given the previous weeks experience with them.

Previous to this, myself and estate agents were trying to contact them by phone. Calls just went to an answer machine, with no return. Responses to emails were days, running to a week asking for information already supplied.

On the occasions when they rang us, we would ask questions to be told they would come back to us. They never did.

I believe what added to the difficulty of dealing with them was we never knew who was responsible their side for what. We were receiving emails from 4 different people. Out of these 4 people, 2 of them didn’t work 5 days a week. This naturally, resulted in a breakdown of communication. The role the 4 people played within the sale of one property and the purchase of another has been very clear from the onset.

My belief is that Emerald Law create barriers to fulfilling the service they advertise. I cannot deem that this is intentional, but that is how it appears to myself.

If I could give zero stars, that would be my rating. I have only given my opinion of the service, or rather lack of, relevant to our particular dealings with them.

Both estate agents and Sales progress companies, so another 4 parties have also commented that they have never experienced anything like this. We can’t all be wrong.

I recently received exceptional service from Sarah Goodwin regarding a data protection breach caused by my local council. It was an extremely sensitive situation and Sarah handled it with such care and attention. I had no idea what to expect and allowed Sarah to lead. She kept me updated consistently and we were successful with our claim. I really hope I'll never be in this situation again, but if I were, I would use emerald law again in a heartbeat. He has been very friendly and kept me in the loop of things all the time. Authorised this firm to handle a compensation claim a couple of years ago. Signed all documents. Replied to emails then no contact back..assumed it was just going through as these things can take a while. Chased by email but no reply..contacted a few weeks ago chasing again..lady said would check file and get back to me within 24 hours..now nearly 3 weeks past so chased them again..found out that the 2 people dealing with my case have left company and my case has been closed..no explanation why only apparently I did not sign E documents which I did.
Rude lady on phone saying why haven't I chased sooner and whilst trying to explain that I have and I have screen shots of emails she put phone down in a rude manner because she had no answers.
Called back but she wouldn't pick up..

Joseph O’Brien has been amazing assisting me with my claim and winning me money. He has been very friendly and kept in constant contact, he made sure I knew exactly what I had to do and the conditions of the solicitors. We praised each other on our responsiveness. Overall I have had a great experience with something that could have been increasingly stressful if it wasn’t for Emerald Law.
