I was a customer of CTA from 2020 until 2025 when I liquidated my business. During that time they were responsible for payroll, end of year accounts, book-keeping, and VAT submissions. If due dilligence had been taken on their part to manage payroll in relation to company profitability then the negative directors loan account balance could have been managed.

I was an owner of a LTD company and customer of CTA for about 5 years, a summary of my experience is below:

Pros:

• Cost Effective – They provide accountancy services for a reasonable price.

• Accurate Submissions – I never had any problems with the end of year accounts that were submitted by CTA.

Cons:

• Not Proactive – I recently went through the process of liquidating my business, and due to negligence on CTA’s behalf, they allowed the business to accrue a large director’s loan account deficit (approx. £30k) for which I was personally liable. This could have been easily avoided if CTA had been monitoring and/or advising me of the situation and suitable adjustments made.

• Slow Accounting – End of year accounts were almost always completed very late in the year which provided almost no time for tax planning.

• Poor Communication – I never really knew who my specific accountant was, and this would seem to change without notice. Responses to queries would often take several days.
