When the senior solicitor/owner is incredibly unprofessional, that really is all you need to know about this company. They will happily send invoices for payment incredibly quickly but will not forward any information, sort out issues, or respond to emails / phone calls unless continuously chased.. and even then the responses are lackluster to say the least.
The conveyancing department are just as bad and are not interested in anything you have to say. Please for your own sanity, do not use this company. We will be seeking advice from the legal ombudsman regarding this company and their incompetence which has now forced us to pay thousands more than quoted by other companies.

I had a very stressful and frustrating experience with Beeston Shenton Solicitors while purchasing my first home. From the beginning, the process was plagued with delays and poor communication. It took over a month for them to even begin progressing with my case due to system compatibility issues with the seller’s solicitors—something I was never informed about until the sellers themselves asked if the purchase was still going ahead.

My case was then passed to another solicitor, who began asking for documents that had already been provided. On one day, I received emails from four different people, each claiming they were now handling my case. I was asked to email documents back, only to be told months later that they needed to be posted—without even being given an address until I followed up myself.

I had to chase Beeston Shenton repeatedly, not only for my own updates but also on behalf of the seller’s solicitors, who were not receiving responses for weeks. My own emails were often ignored or met with one-line replies that offered no real help. Not once did any solicitor call me to explain the process or offer reassurance. Everything was handled via email, which made the experience feel cold and impersonal.

Toward the end, I was told I needed to deposit £6,500 more than expected—an incredibly stressful surprise. After completion, I was then asked to pay an additional £130 for the Land Registry fee, even though I had already received a completion certificate. I followed up, but weeks later, I still haven’t received a response and am now worried about the status of my Land Registry.

What should have been an exciting milestone turned into a five-month ordeal (with no chain on either side) due to their inefficiency and lack of professionalism. I would not recommend Beeston Shenton Solicitors to anyone looking for reliable, communicative, or supportive legal services.
