I have never in my life been compelled to write a review on any company until my dealings with this firm.

I received a debt collection letter from this firm WRT hire car damage fees I was completely unaware of from the hire car company. I paid the debt collection firm with their own admin fee and only upon paying realised that the firm had overcharged me to what the hire car company billed me. Upon trying to contact credit limits international regarding this, absolutely comms silent. Impossible to get ahold of despite answering within seconds when they were chasing me for money. Upon contacting the hire car company this overpayment never went to them.

Credit Limits International is a company of fraudulent scammers masquerading themselves as a legit credible company, overcharging their “customers” on top of their own admin fee and pocketing the difference. Firm of cockroaches and id advise all businesses requiring debt collection services to seek other companies.

I needed to chase a debt from a national company and didn't have high hopes about receiving the funds. We are a very small business with a limited amount of money so were understandably concerned about having to go 'legal' against such a big entity. We contacted Credit Limits International upon recommendation and within a matter of weeks, we had all of our money, plus interest and they even managed to get the end client to cover their fee so the whole thing cost us nothing. As a small company, we were absolutely thrilled with the results. If we ever find ourselves in this situation again, I would have no hesitation to contact the team. I highly recommend this company if you want a professional and reputable debt collection agent - Lucy, Recruitment Index

I have received a letter from CLI Debt Collector regarding an outstanding debt. Despite my efforts to contact them, I have not been successful. I have called their office more than 20 times at various times of the day, but have not been able to reach anyone. Additionally, I have sent multiple emails to their provided email address, yet I have not received any response.

I am eager to resolve this matter and need assistance to understand the details of the debt and to discuss possible payment options. Could you please advise on the next steps or provide an alternative way to contact CLI Debt Collector?

Thank you for your assistance.

A quick search on Google will take you to The Guardian article regarding this company who buys up old Italian fines even when they have been paid. Throw their letters in the bin.
If you feel like entertaining it then demand proof of debt, evidence of any offence they’re claiming…oh, and last of all and most importantly - a court judgement!
Yes, if you are a citizen of the UK or any European country you have the right to defend yourself! If a claim is served upon you then proof of delivery with a signature is a legal imperative. You legally have two weeks to reply and the option of an extension on top of that.
If things have gone amiss and you were never informed then you simply send whatever court an N244 explaining you never received any documentation and your position. This MUST be observed by a judge and you have the right to a hearing.
Do not let these companies scare you and please speak with Citizens Advice or any qualified solicitor for confirmation.
Be well everyone!

Edit:
Should the Guardian have been incorrect, they would have been forced to write a retraction. Second, this company could sue successfully on the grounds of defamation and false information. News papers have to be very careful regarding new laws on this and as the company has not acted… I would not take the Directors word as truth until such action is taken.

Secondly, the police and government departments, with a court order can successfully demand recompense of fines across borders as is international law. There would be no need to go to a third party debt collection and if they were to, the demand for payment should ALWAYS be served with a court order and proof of debt. You do not have to demand this. I believe, you can ignore their notices until these are provided as who is to say whether it is not simply a scam… they should and would be doing this if they were in possession of such documents.
Should they be in the right let them proceed to open a small claim where you can defend your rights. This is not the Wild West, there are laws and legislation for a reason.
Recorded delivery is ABSOLUTELY necessary in this country. This is why courts will insist you have proof of delivery. This is why courts will have proof any claim against you has been officially “served” - this is to uphold your right to defend yourself and be in the knowledge of legal proceedings. Absolutely absurd claim that it is not!

You have no obligation to reply to anyone who you do not know without a verified source. Failure to provide such, I believe, you can ignore until they do.

Citizens Advice give great free legal advice, always worth speaking to them before any engagement with a third party debt collection company.

I cannot sing the praises high enough of Jamie O'Connell, I had a client that had breached their contract with payment terms and this was the first time I had found myself in this position. Credit Limits International was not the first company I rang up, yet they were the most informative, and I felt like an individual case not one with a templated response. Jamie lay out all the possibilities, the processes, and what information and practices they would be following, along with how it would work internationally. Additionally, he also mentioned what phrases to put in my email to the client, which I have since put into my protocols now. I have already mentioned Jamie and Credit Limits International to other business owners I know, if/ when needed, I will most certainly be using Jamie and CLI.

Received a bogus letter from this company. Called them to ask what is about and they couldn't tell me. Called three times only to be told no details available yet. Tried calling this week (20 times) and no response, there is no one at the office. This whole thing seems like a scam....

Thanks to my ex husband I had the misfortune to be a costumer of the company. But I must say during the whole time i was their client I was treated with respect ,nobody judged me and my case handler Laura was just amazing. She was always really kind and helpful and made the whole experience a lot less stressful which I'm really grateful for.

Debt Collection Secrets Revealed.

You don’t owe 3rd party collectors! Don’t Fall Victim to 3rd Party Debt Collection Agencies that you’ve never signed a contract to do business with!

WHY YOU DON’T OWE

Third Party Debt Collection Agenies have LOTS of Secrets. Most of the time, you really don’t owe a 3rd party collector any money at all. They are Debt Scavengers who buy spreadsheets of debt with listed names, phone numbers, addresses, and listed debt; but you have no legal or moral obligation to pay them unless they are able to validate the debt.

. CREDIT LIMIT INTERNATIONAL DON'T EVEN HAVE LEGIT OFFICES BUT OPERATE OUT A WORK UNIT THAT IS RUN BY A REFURBISHING COMPANY. LOOK ON GOOGLE MAPS 3D VERSION. IT SHOW HOW BAD THIS COMPANY REALLY IS.

Recieved countless letters from this 3rd rate organisation. Told them often i am not the person they name in there sick letters. Nor if i was the person they think I am would i deal with a company who buys loans from others. Then think they can collect and add illegal interest rates etc. Also have recieved letters threatening to send doorstep collectors to my address. This is an illegal practice. I have read on debit collectors website. They have no rights or powers to carry out such practices. Waiting to see if a creep representing them, turns up at my door. He like this company will then be served with a writ. Also face being arrested, for harrassment of the lowest of the low that these people are.

The CEO's reply to me is beyond belief. He seems to think he has and knows rights of law. He doesn't he uses threats to try and justify his own failings as a person. Who lack any human skills in communicating. On his letter he included a out of focus picture of csa certificate dating from 2013. Seems that like the company he runs he uses lies in out of focus and outdated certificate to again jusify his and his incompetitent employees lies. If the company was awarded a csa cert in 2013 but not since. That says alot about the true shabbyness of how this company has spiraled downwards to the shambolic and illegal way it still operates.
