We wanted to convert the basement in our terraced property, but it was completely unusable due to around an inch of standing water all year round. After getting a few quotes, Damp X stood out as very competitive, and I was impressed with Josh’s attitude and approach.

Our main concerns were twofold: first, we didn’t see many reviews specifically mentioning basement waterproofing and conversion, so we weren’t sure how experienced they were in this type of work.

Second, having workmen in and out of the house every day for an extended period, and the disruption that could cause was something we were worried about - especially as you don’t know how professional those workmen are going to be!

Thankfully, we had nothing to be concerned about on either front.

Josh and his team were professional, accommodating, and incredibly respectful of our home, ensuring minimal disruption throughout the project. They completed the work on time and within the agreed budget. What we initially thought would just be a practical space has completely transformed our basement—turning a damp, unusable area into an entirely new level of our home that we now use every single day.

From the initial instrumental survey to the intrusive survey the service provided by Josh and Adam was excellent. Findings were explained in detail so the actual cause of the issue was fully understood and money not wasted on “solutions” that would not actually address the issue. For the intrusive survey the professionalism, reinstatement and cleanliness was first class. I would highly recommend.

Highly recommend DampX. Josh came out to the property did a thorough inspection and really put our mind at ease. We had large companies come out and really put the fear in us and also quoted us ridiculous amounts and made the job to be far bigger than what it is. It was the best money I have spent to have Josh out and I will say to anyone spend this money and do this before you contract any work to these large companies. I recently used Dampx for some work at a house in Otley, West Yorkshire and I was very impressed with every aspect of their work. Josh came to do a damp assessment and went over and above to find the possible cause spending time to even visit the neighbouring properties. I accepted their quote for a couple of jobs and was really pleased I did. They fitted me in quickly. The work was at an excellent standard and they left no mess, really clean workers.
