I had a terrible experience with this company.

Their communication skills are terrible. It took a week to get a reply for a simple question, and that's if I got a reply at all. When they did reply, I was given conflicting information from the director and his secretary. Most of the time I just Googled what I needed to know because it was less effort. It made me wonder why I was even paying them in the first place.

They incorrectly invoiced me £10,000 for a simple job, and left me in the dark for a few days, while I worried about the charge. A staff member then got back to me claiming he accidentally put an extra zero on the invoice. This is coming from a company whose job revolves around numbers, so that is pretty poor.

I also had an issue with obtaining my final payslips. They refused to hand them to me even though I paid for them. They eventually gave them to me after some back and forth and me providing proof that I had already paid for this service.

I expected a bit of reassurance and advice from my accountant and got very little. I have since moved on to a more reliable and communicative accountant. I would not recommend this business.

My accountant was retiring and Grant & Co were recommended to me. They have assisted with both my business and personal tax affairs. I have been impressed with the service received. In my view, the firm is big enough to have the appropriate expertise in-house, but small enough still to care about their clients. Unlike the large accountancy firms, Grant & Co.'s fees are realistic for the service and advice I received and, based on my own experience, I'd be happy to recommend this firm to my own clients.
