I recently had to change accountants as I required a firm with a more specialist knowledge of overseas employment and how this impacted on my personal tax position. I identified Haggards Crowther and had a meeting with Terry, one of the partners. Terry quickly understood my position and gave me some really sound and sensible advice. Having a good working relationship with your accountant is key from my experience and I found Terry to be very personable and easy to talk to. I forwarded the required information and my tax return has been submitted swiftly and without issue.

I have used HC for a few years (ONE OF THE BIGGEST REGRETS I HAVE IN LIFE!) and after a while I've noticed that their extortionate invoices kept getting higher with out any prior discussion or reason. I chase up my own invoices and do my own reconciling, both income and expenditure so how they have arrived at these figures, baffles me!
I have tax returns (both personal and business) that haven't been filed, my VAT hasn't been submitted on time too and I've been left with penalties left, right and centre! Despite non of this being done, they still had the audacity to send me an invoice for over 3k. Atrocious! Never ever will I recommend them to anyone and I shall spread the word of their incompetence and as far as I'm concerned this is broad daylight robbery. 1 star was quite generous too!
