In started training with Jon in late 2014, and have been a regular for the last 4 years. I just retired when I started with Jon, so fitness became important top me. I am now in better shape than I was 4 years ago. I enjoy our weekly sessions, and feel as though I have really worked out by the end, without being over-extended. Jon is aware of muscle capabilities and limitations and importantly, I have never been injured while training with Jon. That is not to say he has not stretched me and made me work hard, but he knows his client's limits, and when to ease off. Jon also has a good manner and we have interesting discussions during our sessions, and not just about how well Liverpool are playing. Based on my experience, Jon is definitely a 5 star personal trainer.

I started training with Jon around 3 years ago and he has been instrumental in improving my general fitness levels significantly. Our sessions are always enjoyable with a variety of workouts and i really like the fact that Jon seems to know accurately how much my body would be able to work without over- extending and suffering any injuries. He has also been very flexible with timings and his recommendations on box sets have been impeccable! Would highly recommend.

I have been training with Jon for 2 years after recovering from a stress fracture. I have gone from being not particularly fit nor unfit and being quite indifferent or even reluctant to go to the gym, to now actively enjoying training twice a week in addition to yoga and cycling almost everyday.
Jon is amazing. He has a ton of knowledge and keeps learning and sharing on many topics around fitness, running and rehabilitation after an injury. His connections and experience in the medical field are invaluable. He is also kind, a good listener, and very organised. Through a lot of encouragement patience and very clear and precise instructions Jon has helped me to regain my strength and confidence and grow in fitness a lot further than I would have imagined. He has helped me to push myself and actually enjoy it!
Sessions are always gentle and within my ability but with that extra push and encouragement to stretch my limit a little bit more. I always come out of sessions feeling happy and proud and totally ready for the day.
I definitely recommend training with Jon!

I had just had surgery on my foot and the consultant who was treating me at the time recommended I see Jon in order to assist with my rehabilitation.

Through my sessions with Jon I achieved increased strength and stability in areas that were weak and, over a year on, I am still training with him.

My main issue, like most people is gaining the motivation to do exercise. It was therefore great to meet Jon as he brings a highly positive focus both on a personal level and within the workout. It is clear he cares deeply about understanding his client and in turn obtaining the best outcome for them.

His positive outlook on all things is both inspiring and infectious. He makes you feel completely at ease which makes the session really enjoyable. Jon has the ability to communicate and direct the exercises in such a way that sometimes I don't realise I'm doing them! I always feel invigorated and energised after the session.

I would highly recommend Jon for all aspects of personal training both for his knowledge and expertise in fitness and particularly if you struggle with self motivation.

After meeting him you feel that anything is possible to achieve!

I was recommended to Jon by my Consultant following treatment for a running injury - tendonitis in my foot. Jon is incredibly professional, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work. Jon starts with the client, seeking to understand your goals, exercise preferences and build upon your strengths. He was able to take a holistic view of my fitness, suggested exercises and bespoke training regimes that were achievable, motivating and fitted in with my work schedule. He listens. After introducing new exercises he would send me a video, and email a plan which was incredibly helpful. He was constantly accessible and genuinely interested in providing the best possible service to his clients. Thank you Jon!

After having a stress fracture, I went to see Jon and he's been an enormous support through my recovery. He easily spotted my weaknesses and made a workout plan for me to get back to running. After just three months running, I achieved my PB 10km race time, and am on track to complete the London Marathon 2019. He is bubbly and full of cheer, always around when I have questions or need some guidance, and has performed some great analytics on my running style. I recommend him to anyone racing for a time, or just looking to get in shape. Great attitude, great training!

I compete in a Ironman at a pretty high level within my age group so after a nearly 3 years of constant niggles and very inconsistent training I decided to try Jon. Jon is a very knowledgeable and every time we trained I would learn a lot and feel that it was working the right muscles to make me stronger, he would also explain what we were trying to achieve. After around 10 weeks I felt this had made a significant change and felt a lot more confident within my training and my stability.
We also did track work and Jon gave me a step by step video of what I was doing wrong within my running. So 32 weeks in my training now for IM Austria and haven’t had any niggles and feel like I’m running better and stronger then before.

Following a number of operations by Foot & Ankle Consultant, Ahmad Malik, between September 2018 and January 2019 on my legs and feet, I was finally discharged in March by Ahmad. My journey during those long months was both physically and mentally challenging and much time was spent bedridden. When you have always been used to keeping fit and a keen runner, the effects on my state of mind were devastating.

I was determined to get fit again and so when Ahmad recommended I meet up with Jon Holmans, Personal Trainer, who works closely with Ahmad, I didn’t hesitate to get in touch with Jon.

From my very first contact with Jon via text message, he was so helpful and informative. We then spoke over the phone for about 30 minutes. Jon asked me lots of questions and showed a real interest in what I’d had done and what he could do for me. The biggest problem we had was trying to find a slot for him to fit me in based around my limited availability and the fact that I didn’t live that close to where Jon trains.

I have now been seeing Jon for the past couple of months and he has transformed my fitness levels. I liked him as soon as I met him, he is personable, is interested in me and works me unbelievably hard. He encourages me to let him know how I am doing (even when I don’t see him).
When I started seeing him, my feet were weak as were my knees and my back ached all the time. We initially worked on strengthening my foot muscles and I was given a series of exercises to perform at home, which I have done every day. Jon even filmed a routine for me and sent it over for me to follow. Over time, my knees have become stronger and I no longer suffer with back ache.

Jon is an absolute expert in what he does, he cares, he is kind but he also works me hard. I am unrecognisable in his studio now from the person he met 2 months ago! I love that hour we have together and I feel so good afterwards.

After a number of sessions, Jon asked me what I wanted from all this. I replied...a flat tummy and to run again. The next week, Jon took me on a little run, the first in a year and I can honestly say I cried. I never thought a year ago I would be running again. Jon is now helping me gradually return to running and I can’t begin to thank him enough. I’m still working on the flat tummy!!

I would recommend Jon to you without hesitation and I hope you are lucky enough for him to personally train you in the future!
