I was initially hesitant to pursue coaching while weighing the financial investment vs. other training and development pathways. I was clearly stuck in a rut and questioning the impact I was having at work. I came to Mehalah at Lead Powerful Impact as I got new stretch role in an organisation which elements of both the public and private sector. After feedback from manager i knew need a little bit of help to address some of issues raised and have a safe space to explore options and solutions.

I really liked the opportunity I had to take a step-back and look at the situation and consider what good outcome would look and feel like. And then work through what I can do to help make that a reality. Mehalah, created a safe and positive space for this exploration. She asked interesting questions and would often bring a wider perspective on the issue. I also appreciated that Mehalah had a good understanding of both public and private sector and the different ways they work.

Firstly, working with Mehalah, helped me succeed in my role. Secondly it taught me a range of tools to help me bring about the successful outcomes I would love to achieve. I still use these now.

Mehalah is an amazing coach. She has a great toolbox of tools and techniques to help get you unstuck, but is super responsive and flexible with them. I found her great at supporting me to analyse and surface insights around tricky situations and focus on what I CAN do to move things forward, and replenish my energy levels. She's not afraid to challenge in a constructive way, and is great and knowing when this is needed. As well as one to one coaching with Mehalah, I've really enjoyed her group offerings. I came to Mehalah because I had reached a career crossroads. I needed to step back and review what work could and should reasonably mean and needed help to do that. I also wanted to invest in myself and value myself a bit more than I had for a long time. This was me spending money I had earned on me - because I actually matter. When you are a busy working parent you can completely forget that.

I had reservations investing in a personal coach as I wasn’t sure whether it would just be generic blah blah - but it was all very tailored to my needs and done sensitively.

Mehalah mostly asked open questions for me to work through and drew on core issues such as having empathy for myself rather than blame and taking time to build solutions rather than always jumping to what I needed to do. We did a few more formal exercises which were also useful.

The sessions were a valuable step for me in themselves - as for so long I had been ploughing on on my own without ever stepping back. I am totally committed to my work which is a good thing, but I needed to take some time to think more clearly so that my commitment could be more measured and I could become more impactful.

Overall  I got to a better place where I understood my work self, what my strengths are and what I need to work harder on much more clearly. I also have a better sense of what I bring to the workplace and have become proud of that.

I would absolutely recommend Mehalah to people who want to take a step right back and review how they work, who they are at work and be more precise in what they want to achieve.
