What to say about Mark.... Quite simply the best! I've been tattooed at Monki-Do a few times from various artists past and present and they're all remarkable at what they do.... but Mark is a different level! When I contacted Mark and told him I wanted 2 hand pieces he was straight back to me finding a way to fit me in. You will have seen Marks work and will know he's incredible at what he does; my tattoos were probably a nice easy morning for him but this didn't mean I got any less attention or care. He's super easy to talk to, makes you feel calm throughout and is just a pleasure to be around.
I will definitely be back to see him and get more tattoos. Thanks for fitting me in mate, keep up the great work 👏🏻👏🏻

Managed after a 2 year wait to get tattooed by Mark, and it was more than worth the wait. His professionalism was second to none and from the get go he was very detailed in what he was doing. The consultations were brilliant and he answered any questions that needed answering. The overall tattoo is incredible and so much better than i ever expected. After roughly 70 hours i was so glad to get it done, its even made me debate if i want another (the pain) still 5 years later i still don’t have anymore 😅 but if i do there’s only one man i’d go to! For sixteen years and more, I have entrusted my flesh to the hand of Mark Gibson, the inkwright. Through winters long and summers searing, he has etched imagery upon my skin - artifices both new and reborn. Some were born of fresh vision, conjured between us in long councils of design; others were ghosts of old markings, banished by fire and light, only to be reborn beneath his needle with greater grace.

The work endures. Strangers still remark upon its craft, and none believe the years that have passed. The truest testament lies upon my arm—a portrait wrought in the early days of our fellowship. Though sixteen winters have passed, and though sun and stone have battered it as I rode through wind and mountain, the face remains. The lips still curve with life, the hair flows with details of shadow and light, and the eyes gaze as keenly as the day they were drawn.

Long are the hours beneath the needle, but never are they burdensome. As the ink flows and the skin is etched, we speak of many things—of books and songs, of engines and timber, of homes we’ve shaped and tools we favour, and of the reckless tales from younger days when the world still felt vast and unclaimed. There is laughter in Monki Parlour, and silence too; but never discomfort. Our time together is always a good one, and the hours pass like mead at a midsummer feast.

Mark is not a man to take his art lightly. He will sit with you, consult with you, question and listen, until the shape of your desire becomes clear. This is no small thing. Time is his coin, and he spends it freely for those who would wear his work. That some folk would seek to be marked without such counsel—I cannot fathom it. It is folly.

If you seek a true artisan—one who labors as the old masters did, with fire, vision, and patience—then find your way to Mark. Let him make your skin a canvas, and your story a legend!

Mark is a legend. Proper sound bloke. Takes cleanliness very seriously and is absolutely unreal at tattooing. He designed half a sleeve for me to join to some existing work and he absolutely nailed it. I’ve already booked in for more work. Would 100% recommend Mark to anybody. On top of his fantastic work, he’s a really great person. Always chatty, just feels very comfortable, I wouldn’t go anywhere else 👍🏻

My journey started over 3 years ago with Mark, I booked in for a consultation, which was in depth, with Marks amazing knowledge and he really listened to my thoughts and ideas.

I’ve been going to mark for over a decade now, he was introduced to me through my dad (who has been going to him for over 2 decades maybe). Mark gave me my first tattoo when I just turned 18, and he is still my go to when I want bigger or more detailed pieces. He never fails to appreciate the art of tattoo and always delivers no matter what. He is super friendly and welcoming, always happy to offer tea/coffee and breaks whenever they are needed. He is now a tattooist for my family and if he’s still tattooing in 18 years (🤞🏼) I’ll be sure my daughter goes to him first!

I couldn't recommend Mark enough, every project he has done for me has exceeded my expectation from start to finish. The journey is always a pleasure from the initial consultation where I bring my 'green shoots' of ideas, knowing I can leave it with Mark to work his creative magic and evolve the idea. He has this ability to get it spot on time after time as if he can see into my mind! I really appreciate his honesty too, if he thinks my ideas don't quite work he will always tell me and provide a solution. My yearly visits are part of my self care plan!
