Though we weren’t able to secure a mortgage due to issues with the property location. Michelle worked tirelessly behind the scenes to try and make it happen. At no point did we feel out of the loop or in the dark during the process. From the initial call Michelle took the time to explain every step. As things progressed we were always informed of unforeseen changes or additional information requests in a timely manner.

If you are considering a self build and looking for a broker to make it happen I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else. The benefits package that comes as part of your broker fee is second to none. It allowed up to visualise our future build though CGI, put us in direct contact with a VAT reclaim team and vitality helped in the securing of site insurance and building warranty quotes.

Michelle you made a complex and stressful time so much easier so my wife and I would like to openly thank you for everything that you did for us. Until the next attempt 😉

Don't go anywhere else without speaking to Mayflower first. I was given Five star treatment by Mayflower Mortgage and Finance & nothing was ever too much trouble.
My Story: I went through a long process with another self build broker & it was hell on earth & I nearly just sold my plot & gave up. As a women getting divorced & building a house alone, I was made to feel 2nd class & not worthy by the other broker. I so wish I could mention them by name.
I then found Lee Ward, at Mayflower, I explained what I had been through & he just listened & took all of my stress away. He has been a Rock to me & I can't thank him enough. Fantastic service. HIGHLY recommended. Mike understands the self-build process and has been committed to finding a solution for us. Importantly, he also coordinated the Structural Warranty and Building Control so that we could have the same inspector cover both requirements, and found us site insurance at a very competitive rate.

Of note, his communication has been second to none - provided us updates when he said he would, without fail. I think he’s the only person throughout all our self-build journey who has achieved this.
