The survey report is exceptional. Clear, concise and comprehensive, it covers everything we need to know, including the building history. Background information, diagrams, photographs, conclusions and recommendations have been included in each section, allowing us to move forward with our eyes wide open. Knowing what work would be required immediately and what should be monitored over a period of time is invaluable. Particularly beneficial, was Tim asking for a list of proposed changes we would want to make to the property before the survey. We did this and added in questions that arose from the property viewings as well. Each item on our list was covered within the report. It was my pleasure recently to meet Tim & Lizzie who carried out a Listed Buildings survey on a property I am about to buy.
As promised, I received a phone call from Tim 24 hours after their visit to verbally go through the most important parts of their findings. Within 7 days, again as promised, an in-depth 83 page survey report arrived, detailing every issue, defect and concern raised during their visit.
The report also included recommendations and advice regarding different options to consider before moving forward with repairs.
Buying a listed building feels quite daunting, given that planning permission is required for most works to be carried out, many of which can be expensive, but Tim’s experience and wealth of knowledge was very re-assuring.
I would highly recommend Nicholson Price Associates if you require a building survey on a Listed property, or one in a Conservation area. They have the extra specialist knowledge and expertise necessary (unlike many building surveyors), to carry out this important and professional work which these historic buildings deserve.
