Recently put my father's house on Canford Heath up for sale using Palmer Snell estate agents. Initially I was guided by Grace who gave good advice, with options that were available. She certainly seemed to know her business and was not 'pushy' in any way. From then until the eventual sale, I dealt with Zak from the same office. He was extremely helpful throughout the process, with good advice and guidance, with a great character and sense of humour. Palmer & Snell - instructed Sept, offer accepted Oct. Told our buyer had a cash buyer, not true. Ended up being in a chain. Exchange dates were moved from end of Jan to Feb to March but even at that point still no date. We gave an ultimatum re: an exchange date 7 days later and were called 2 days before to say chain has collapsed. They gave the keycode to the keysafe to contractors for the vendor without even telling us when the house hadn't been cleared of valuables. Their recommended solicitor was not pro-active at all and gave the same updates 1 month after the last time she had said the same thing. When the chain was slowing to a halt we were given 3 different reasons why the person at the bottom was causing it to be unreliable all completely different. The delays have cost us a fortune and after 5 months we have had to go back on the market. They refused to let us out of the contract unless we went with an agent affiliated to their group (which we have) when we launched a complaint about this nearly 2 weeks ago with Christchurch branch who had been courting me for a BTL I am completing on, we were promised an answer in 24-48 hours. That was 2 weeks ago on Weds and still no answer. But they have kept contacting to try and save the sale/ chain but thankfully the other agent has got us several offers in under a week from purchasers better suited to a fast completion and at asking price.

Booked a viewing on a flat last week and met Russell from the Canford heath branch. Very helpful and laid back! No matter how many questions I asked or emails sent he would always reply with an answer.
