Stephen and Katie designed the remodel and extension of our home from a 3 bed to an 5 bed with integrated garage. After an initial consultation they went away and drew up the plans. We discussed and made a few tweaks and they listened to what we wanted and produced a fantastic outcome. The plans were submitted to planning with no issues. Stephen and Katie were lovely to work with and I would highly recommend them.

The Hooks

SKBC Ltd were recommended to us by a local construction company to support us with the development of our Victorian family home.

Our home had already been subject to some less than sympathetic building work by previous owners and we were keen to remedy this with something new that would meet not only the needs of our family but also was in-keeping with our houses age.

This was the first time we had undertake a project like this and whilst we had a few ideas it wasn’t until Stephen and Katie visited to start the project that things started to come to life and the various options available to us were fully appreciated.

Despite not being the largest project that SKBC had undertaken we were always treated courtesy and professionalism.

After the initial visit plans were drafted for our review, we had a couple of changes we wanted to make based on our requirements (these wouldn’t have come about without having good conversation with Stephen and Katie), these changes were turned around quickly and we were able to move forward.

A further visit to validate measurements etc before final plans were completed and the process of planning permission and building rev applications commenced. Having heard some horror stories about this process, we had nothing to worry about as SKBC handled this process on our behalf as well as engaging with a structural engineer for some of the more complex elements of the build.

When we started to engage with builders to undertake the work, all those who quoted commented on the quality of plans which helped them provide detailed and accurate quotes etc, which in turn helped us understand the financials of the project with an increased level of assurance.

During the build, the structural engineer was readily available to answer a couple of questions for the builder which again made the process that much smoother.

Overall the project went very well and without incident. I think given the time and thought given to the planning phase and through engaging with SKBC Ltd, we were set-up for success from the off.

I would have no hesitation in recommending SKBC Ltd for your project, no matter how big or small. The diligence provided by Stephen and Katie was reassuring and their creativity allowed us to develop our home exactly as we wanted.
