From the very start of our stay myself, partner and dogs were made to feel very welcome the introduction was lovely. The rooms were clean, well decorated and provisioned. We had direct access to the garden which was brilliant with the dogs. All staff were very pleasant and again made us feel at home. We felt the hotel was very good value. The breakfast was delicious and lots of options. The location is perfect with good pubs and walks! We are in the process of arranging to bring my parents back. Thanks!

Stayed overnight for b&b. Rooms are clean and quite modern which overlook the large beer garden adjacent to a stream. Beds are 2 singles together so kind of super king size. Our TV didn't work but it just needed retuning. Also we had a random really loud buzzing noise which I think may be the pipes resonating when another rooms flush is pulled (So only 4 Star review)
Pub decor is usual old fashion theme. Staff are really nice and the food was excellent.
Breakfast was also great with open buffet and a choice of hot meal to follow. All this was served in the pub before it's open to the public.
I ride past here on my motorcycle quite often always riding past. But next time I will be stopping for at least a drink in the garden or a coffee and cake from the coffee shop within the pub.

My husband I had been hiking all day in the nearby area, and went to The White Hare as it looked like a nice place for lunch. We were dressed in our walking gear, and I suspect this may have been what influenced the behaviour we experienced.

Our intrigue quickly turned to bafflement, when we went inside. There was a man and woman behind the bar, who kept their backs to us as we patiently waited for about 10 minutes to be acknowledged. We remained standing there, while the woman saw us, took a phone-call and continued to ignore us with her back to us. The man had walked off at this point leaving us standing there. It was quite clear from their pointed positioning, and behaviour that this was deliberate.

Eventually, the man came back and my husband asked if there was any space for lunch (the pub looked almost empty at this point in the day). The man shook his head and said no. We found another nice pub nearby for lunch instead.

I have never outright seen this behaviour before from a Gastro-pub, and we live in a nice area of South West London next to four of them.
It's a shame, as Tintern is a lovely area, and the insecurity and misplaced snobbery of a select few can really taint the experience of the place.

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Tintern. Wonderful room with very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very accommodating towards our newborn. Early and late check-in/out was avaliable at an extra cost which we were happy to pay for.
Food is excellent with friendly service to match.
We only live 45 minuets away but wanted a quick getaway and as a new family we couldn't recommend this place more. You will definitely see us again!

Having spent the morning at the Abbey and mooching around the craft market, by lunchtime we were ready for a snack. The Hare looked appealing, so in we went. The Sunday roasts looked too good to be true, so I ordered pork belly, my wife opted for beef. Just know this...it was probably the best Sunday roast we have had. Our waitress was lovely, the restaurant classy, and the food excellent. Recommended.

Only visited on s sunny Sunday afternoon for a beer. The restaurant was filling up with diners and looked busy. Didn't eat and cannot comment on food or rooms. I can say that the atmosphere was convivial and service cheerful. Must look in for lunch soon.
The location is superb for whatever you want to do on the Wye Valley.

We stayed in the beautiful village of Tintern. This place was literally across the road from our accommodation. |I have a garlic allergy and rang to see if the burgers contained garlic. They did. I was told I could order one without garlic if I gave at least one weeks notice. ||The only time we could book was 8.00pm on the Saturday, which we accepted. The sign outside said pizzas were served on a Saturday evening. My girls were looking forward to this. We were told on ordering that the pizza oven is turned off at 8pm and they couldn’t have pizza. They really struggled with the rest of the menu as they are not young children who could eat off the children’s menu. They are 13 and 16. ||The food was very nice and the goats cheese starter was beautiful.

We didn’t stay, but stopped off for food during a walk. Confusing place to order food because they’ve got 2 - 3 different restaurants in the same building. However, there’s a great pizza place round the side which does vegan pizza and the best fries. Welcoming atmosphere in a building with some historical significance.
