Shocking service from a big name firm, paid almost £2,500 and still don’t have anything resolved. Would not recommend.

After leaving this review yesterday (29-05-24) I was called by one of Thorntons partners Lucy Metcalf, she said to me “ sometimes you just need to give up”. These people do not care about you they only care about their reputation and money.

I spoke to someone on the phone today and they refused to tell me why they won’t take my case on as apparently it’s not something he has to do. I mentioned how serious the case was and he still refused to give me reasonable answer and just mumbled about how I only have a 51% chanced and said how he has to do all the work without getting paid until he wins the case. Absolutely disgusting!

Initial appraisal and correspondence was very efficient and prompt. Good quality schedules and excellent communication - mail, post and phone call. Property sold very quickly and staff were very helpful. Only issue was slight delay in advising me of an offer and of confirming acceptance to client, but this may have been due to my regular contact being off that day. Would use again as long as prices remain competitive and take into consideration new online companies selling at reduced rates.

I was buying a house that I had been renting in. It was important for me to conclude the deal before the current tenancy runs out. Also my case was a bit complicated as I am not a UK national and also claiming bonus from Help-to-Buy ISA. Claire Morris at Thorntons was excellent throughout the whole journey. She was quick to understand my specific requirements, and showed true dedication to meet them. The deal was made in just over three weeks in time for the end of the tenancy, and Claire gave timely updates almost daily through emails, which was my preferred way of communication. The service I received by Claire at Thorntons was highly professional and very pleasant. I definitely recommend Thorntons to friends.
