I have had the most positive hospital experience in the day ward of Crosshouse hospital. From the minute I entered reception to leaving the ward following surgery. Staff were incredibly professional yet friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was fully explained at every stage. I cannot thank everyone enough for making what was a scary experience bearable.

I had the misfortune to be ill last month and was taken into the ENT dept - mainly for a good slap due to the nonsense in my head (joke). The staff were ultra friendly and kind. The food was fab and the constant attention was terrific - cannot complain at all. Facilities were spotless and the doctors were kind and compassionate. I do not envy their job, but well done staff of Crosshouse Hospital - you made my stay a great comfort in a difficult time. Cannot praise them enough.

Arrived in good time for test at Clinical Physiology this morning. Nobody behind desk. This seems to be a commonplace practice in NHS Ayrshire and Arran, as it was the same in Ayr Hospital last month. If patients can manage to do you the courtesy of arriving on time for appointments, the least you can do is have someone ready to welcome them. NHS Ayrshire and Arran is a shambles. Poorly run and organised.

Was so well looked after by Jeni.
Diagnosed my injury, organised x-ray and bloods.Turns out I've ruptured my Achilles 😡.Jeni looked after me from start to finish, explained everything I needed to know now and aftercare procedure ❤️
NHS gets bad publicity,so let's give praise when it's due .🌈

To Jackie the gastroenterology secretary, you're a real star. Just wanted to say thank you for the invaluable information you gave. The dignified, intelligent and humerus way you dealt with my concerns gave me faith in humanity.
You're more clued up than the doctors and nurses.

My wife was treated promptly with friendly and helpful staff, the place was really busy, but no panic or drama,
except the cafe had run out of my wife's favourite cheese scones😂😂
all staff remained cheerful, even if a bit overworked, SNHS at its best, despite some minor politicians saying otherwise

At the time of the pandemic Infection control was a joke. Medical staff with masks down round their chins. Going between patients without sanitising their hands, or putting on new gloves. Saw this regularly in ICU and HDU. The very same staff having the cheek to ask visitors to wear the cheap blue masks provided, even when the visitors are wearing brand new out of the packets PP3. Nurse station desks unattended in ICU and HDU. Food is not fit to feed to dogs.....dry tastelessness and usually cold.

Negligence contributed to my mother falling from her bed and breaking a hip. She was found naked on the floor. Apparently according to the hospital she asked for the side rail to be left down. Now considering at the time my mother had a non capacity placed.......not being able to self determine...........why then was nursing staff taking instruction on an issue of safety from someone who they deemed as being incapable of such decisions. The initial alarm was raised by a patient in the next bed. They tried to duck and dive an investigation into the incident. What happened was pathetic. The hospital was hoping the incident would slide away. It was only when we insisted that we wanted a meeting with the senior charge nurse and the so called "falls coordinator" that information came to light. After my mum's fall she started to loose control of her motions. When she soiled herself she was cleaned in full view of the other patients and their visitors.

Everything which transpired at that meeting and subsequent complaints was damage limitation control. The reports they produced neglected specifics that was in her medical records. Not only that but they said certain issues raised were not in the medical and nurses notes. I know this, as executor to her estate I requested a copy of her records. I am fully aware of what is in the records. The creators of the reports were fudging them. I was so disgusted with their reports that I made a complaint to the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman about the level of care my mother received prior to her death in the hospital.

Result of the SPDO..........complete and utter whitehouse. Tick box change to procedure. Shocking.......

Animals in an abatior get treated better.

I had an appointment at ward 4c. From start to finish I was treated with kindness and respect. Old style NHS ! Very rare in this hospital.
