The U1-U2 buses from the station to central Cambridge are convenient, but not foreigner friendly in an international university town. None of my French Visa cards worked, though they worked on all other buses in Manchester and London, and also on Cambridge Park and Ride. The surly lady driver couldn't take cash, and assumed it was my fault, or my bank's. As an 82 year old man, I was only rescued by a young lady who kindly paid my £2 fare and wouldn't accept cash in return. My faith in human nature was confirmed, as was my opinion of Whippet buses.

Always found the drivers to be very friendly, and buses are clean and well maintained.

The issue is at least once or twice a week the main commuter bus is “Cancelled” with no service for another hour. I had planned to leave the car at home and use the bus but having been late several times for work in the last month and having to use a myriad of other services to get into Cambridge.

Genuinely the most unreliable bus service I’ve ever known. I know it’s a smaller company but it sure can’t be that difficult to have a reserve driver/bus?

Use at your own caution and providing you don’t have to be anywhere on time. It’s a shame as we are all encouraged to use public transport where possible for environmental reasons and Whippet make that impossible by being so unreliable.

Back in the gas guzzling car unfortunately.

It is the most unreliable bus service I have ever encountered on my trips in England so far. I bought 28-day ticket for Cambridgeshire. However the service was so unreliable that it ruined bunch of my trips. Buses simply don't turn up. And if they do, it is very often with a significant delay. If possible, use another service.

One of the most inconsistent bus services I’ve ever used. Today (25 June 2024) there is a total of 14 buses that are cancelled. It is also common for U1 and U2 buses to be cancelled without advanced notice. This makes it near impossible to plan a trip.

this bus didn’t turn up and i am fuming it is so unreliable and sometimes doesn’t turn up or is late or when it does turn up it leaves early like ten minutes early and then i turned up and it wasn’t there i was absolutely fuming i give up with this bus service ZERO stars

Unreliable service, poor poor management, how can this even be called a bus service it's a disgrace, people rely on public transport for work, school, social activities, it so wrong that the services from Godmanchester are so Unreliable

The U bus is often cancelled with no notice. Google maps doesn’t show that it is cancelled. At other times the Whippet app shows that the bus is cancelled, when it is in fact not cancelled.

I took the bus this morning heading to Cambridge railway station and had a terrible experience. The original bus was cancelled due to ‘driver sickness’ and had to wait another 20mins, then got shouted at by the driver for pressing the stop button 1 stop too early despite apologising instantly the moment I realised. Perhaps to avoid such issue, you can make sure that the board that supposed to tell you where the next stop is actually works? This is a disappointing experience knowing that the ‘Universal’ bus service was terribly run, I’d like to give them the benefits of the doubt with unreliable services but rude staffing is another level.
